Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the government has highest regard and respect for judiciary and is enjoying excellent relations with it. Responding to the leader of the opposition Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan speech here on Monday in the National Assembly, Gilani assured the House that the government believes in trichotomy of powers as envisaged in the constitution and does not want clash with any institution.

Prime Minister said that the government has excellent relations with the judiciary it respects it and accepts its judgements. The Prime Minister said he appointed the incumbent Chief Justice of Lahore High Court even before restoration of the Chief Justice of Pakistan. He said the government wants to take all institutions along.

Gilani said that the constitution details parameters of the three pillars of the State and the government would not go beyond its constitutional limits. About the appointment of judges, he said that government would not indulge in any action that is against the constitution or dignity of the parliament.

"We will protect and strengthen all institutions. He said the government believes in good governance and it is the judiciary, federal and provincial governments and district governments that contribute towards this cherished goal" added Gilani.

The Prime Minister maintained that since the restoration of the judges on March 16 last year the government acted upon the recommendations of the judiciary and there was no complaint against it by the later. The Prime Minister said that the Constitutional reforms would address all issues concerning strengthening of the institutions, provincial autonomy, abolition of 17th amendment and also of Article 58(2-B).

About disputes on water with India, the Prime Minister said that the disputes with India on water issue, violation of human rights in occupied Kashmir, Siachin and Sir Creek issues and other matters should be should be resolved for regional stability. He said that these matters would also be raised at international forum through diplomatic channels and the national interests will not be compromised.

Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that corruption would be eliminated from all the departments to make them profitable and viable. He said the government believes in the accountability and will bring a consensus accountability Bill in the parliament.

The Prime Minister also directed Interior Ministry to remove names of some Baloch leaders from the Exit Control List (ECL) including Sardar Ataullah Mengal, Sardar Akhtar Mengal and Nawab Khair Bakhsh Mari. About the Rental Power Plants, the Prime Minister said that despite load -shedding a decision by the Cabinet was taken for the third party validation by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and World Bank (WB) and any decision on the issue would be taken in the light of their reports.

He said that the Finance Minister would take the House into confidence about the finding of the reports. Earlier Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan speaking on point of order said the opposition will stand with the government in any undemocratic move against the system.
